The First Guests for Tastings at the Winery Dragoshinov
The creation of Dragoshinov Winery was driven by the desire of our oenologist Daniel Dragoshinov to be able to create wine in a way that reflects his ideas and understanding. Therefore, all attention and resources were focused on the production technology – although with a limited budget and space, the winery had to provide the conditions to create wine without compromising on quality.
In the summer of 2021, we began to realize that the most valuable feedback we could get was if we invited wine lovers into the winery to taste our wine. Even though we didn’t have a designated tasting room, we came to the conclusion that we had the most important thing – the cozy location of the winery in our beautiful village, surrounded by nature that paints the yard in different colors every season. Moreover, the winery is located in a very convenient location very close to Veliko Tarnovo and can be a great stopover during a long weekend in the city or when passing nearby.
Our first real tasting with friends took place on a cloudy and rainy June day. Under the shed, where only a few months earlier we were processing grapes, we tasted red wine and white wine from the 2019 and 2020 vintages. Our guests were true connoisseurs and the atmosphere was inspiring, with casual conversations about varietals, flavours and taste.
Soon after, our plans for tastings became a reality when we received an inquiry from the Stara Zagora wine lovers club “Dionis”.
Although the month was September – the height of the grape harvest – and we felt unprepared, guests insisted on visiting the winery and so became our first strangers to taste. The sunny day made the experience even more special. Each guest discovered their favorite wine, and the lively discussion about varietals and their characteristics inspired Daniel to showcase wines we hadn’t yet formally introduced.

Tastings at Dragoshinov Winery are not just an opportunity to taste red and white wine, as well as our rosé, but to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a true family winery where wine is created with love and care at every stage of production.
