Description

Aligoté 2024 is our fourth vintage from a 50-year-old vineyard near the town of Lyaskovets, Veliko Tarnovo region. Altitude about 230 m, hilly terrain, western exposure, brown forest soils.

In the previous year, 2023, the vineyard was severely affected by mildew and we were concerned that this would affect the harvest in 2024. Thanks to the skilled care of the winemaker and the dry year, the plants recovered well. 2024 was very dry with precipitation well below average for the region. Unlike Southern Bulgaria, however, some rain fell here in June. There was minimal rainfall before the grape harvest, which helped for better ripening. The grape harvest of the Aligoté variety was 3 weeks earlier compared to 2023. Despite the difficult year, the vineyard produced very good grapes, which helped us make this wonderful wine.

Aligoté 2024 has a sparkling color with a subtle greenish hue, grassy aromas and a strongly pronounced minerality. Its floral nose and delicate taste will suit well on a summer evening or a winter afternoon.
