Description
The grapes for our Syrah 2021 wine come from a 17-year-old vineyard near the village of Momkovo in the Svilengrad region. The altitude is about 250 m, the terrain is sloping, facing south. The grapes grow on cinnamon-podzolic soils. For this harvest, the grapes are from 8 rows in the middle part of the plot. This is the first of our special project wines that are aged in new 500 liter French barrels. Harvest date: 19.09.2021. Manual picking and sorting. Classic fermentation without insistence with constant temperature control. After malolactic fermentation, 50% of the wine is aged for 11 months in a new 500 liter French oak barrel. Bottling date: November 12, 2022 / The color is deep ruby with violet hues. The aroma is intense – spicy tones and violets. The taste is soft with intense aromas of red fruits. You can still feel the freshness. Full and elegant body. Long finish. Suitable food for this wine are aged cheeses, red and grilled game meats. Alcohol: 14.5 vol.% / Total acidity: 6.3 g/l / Sugars: 2.8 g/l / Batch of 1385 bottles / The wine has excellent aging potential.
